It's Monday, and as you may guess from the above, things are just peachy. We've failed the plumbing inspection, there's a hole where one isn't supposed to be, and other holes can't go where we wanted them. Oh, and a light fixture that isn't being replaced was (partially) broken. When it's time for the electrical rough-in those electricians don't mess around.
The plumbing inspection wasn't a surprise. Some planning had already been done when the pipes were moved away from the exterior wall to provide room for insulation between the pipes and the wall. The only thing the inspector mentioned was the insulation once there's insulation between the pipes and the wall we should be good.
The rest of it came during rough-in. Apparently there's a return for the HVAC system that runs right were we were looking to have a bank of light switches and the new Nest thermostat. Things have been shifted slightly, but we'll see as things progress whether or not those inches are a problem. The new hole is from a bad angle on the drill and is into a tread near the top of the stairs and I'm not sure how the globe on the dining room chandelier was broken.
I installed that chandelier, a Sea Gull Lighting Serenity 5-light chandelier, back in 2010. Thankfully, I purchased it from the same online store as the new outdoor fixtures I ordered last week and they had the information about it in my order history. A new globe's been ordered ...
Hopefully the rest of the week will go more smoothly.

I realize I namecheck Gloria Gaynor as a reference to "I Will Survive," but The Bangles' "Manic Monday" seemed so appropriate.
