Prognosis for Survival: Forecast is for pisco sours
The floor of the main part of the deck is in. The side portion connecting to the stairs and the kitchen door is still a (temporary) piece of plywood and there's no railings. There's also one of the footings that the contractor isn't happy with so he's going to have his guys redo it, but it's clear things are shaping up.
I did some looking around at the plumbing work as it runs through the basement. I have a question or two about some of the decisions made, but progress is being made. While down there, I pulled out the old POTS telephone wire that had been running up to the kitchen. We decided to eliminate the phone jack in the kitchen as part of this remodel. It's been since about 2002 that we've been using VOIP (and cordless phones), so none of the house wiring's really been used since then.
Tonight our neighbor José is coming over for cocktails, so it looks like pisco sours ...
